The Weekly 'Summer School Program' Continues at the Sera Workshop

Fun, Educational Weekly Programs from Tuesday to Friday

The SSM Summer School prepared by the museum’s education department began on 21 June 2010 in the Sakıp Sabancı Museum’s Sera Workshop. It will continue until 30 July 2010 in one-week sessions for children ages 7 to 12.

The program runs from 10:00 to 16:00 for 4 days (Tuesday – Friday) during the week.

 

This program is for children ages 7-12 and employs popular, experienced and exceptional counselors.

Program:
10.00 - 11.00:
Preparation / Warm-up
11.00 - 12.30: Workshop
12.30 - 13.30: Lunch
13.30 - 14.00: Reading Hour
14.00 - 16.00: Workshop

There are 12 students in each class.

Every day there is an applied art interpretation session in one section of the gallery depending on the workshop schedule.

Take a journey down the musical corridors of history in the Music Workshop entitled “Voyage to Sound in the Time Machine” with Gülce Özen Gürkan, who has taught at the Gymboree Child Development Center; ‘Make Your Own Instrument’ class and music programs with games.

A real excavation experience and the magic of archeology at the Archeology Workshop entitled “Who Built This, When and How?” with archeologist Gülay Sert, who is the coordinator and instructor of the Çatalhöyük Children’s Summer Archeology Workshop…

The mysterious world of mythology, fairytales and fairytale-drama activities with actress Deniz Soruklu, who is the producer of the “Get the News from Children” program, in the Creative Drama Workshop entitled “I Listened to a Fairytale and Became One”

Unlimited creativity with the painting, sculpting, relief and mosaic training by painter Filiz Şimşekçi in the Unrestricted Creativity workshop entitled ‘Creative Hands / Lines - Shapes - Colors"...

Short stories, discovering philosophy through concepts and drama training with Şevket Çapkınoğlu and Kemal Erdurak, actors with Zorlu Children’s Theater, in the drama workshop entitled “A Little Philosophy with Children Who Think"

Social skills games, identifying and understanding emotions, appropriate self-expression, communication skills and problem-solving with Burcu Dündar, Pedagogue at Children’s House and Instructor at Istanbul University…

Reading, understanding and interpreting activity every day for half an hour after lunch during the Reading Hour.
